What's new in Radi v0.6.1
2011.07.19
-
You can now easily toggle automatic keyframing on or off. Previously Radi always created keyframes automatically when a layer's values were modified in the Viewer or Inspector. This behavior can now be disabled easily, so that layer keyframes are not accidentally modified.
The button labelled "Auto-keyframe" is available in both the Inspector and in the Viewer (when the Select Layer tool is selected). When auto-keyframing is on, a red key icon appears in both locations, so there's a visual reminder that any changes will be saved as keyframes.
You can also toggle auto-keyframing by pressing the shortcut key A (when in the Viewer).
-
You can now toggle automatic selection of layers in the Viewer. Previously Radi always tried to select a layer when you clicked in the Viewer. To disable this, click the button "Auto-select layers" (visible when the Select Layer tool is selected).
-
Newly created layers now have no keyframes by default. This is more intuitive because you can now easily tell if a layer is animated.
-
Creating autosmoothed animation curves using the Curve Editor windows now works. (This has been broken for a long time.) Autosmoothing is an easy way to soften an animation. To finetune the smoothing, you can add more keyframes.
To apply it, open the Curve Editor for a parameter (click the "curve" button next to a parameter's slider in the Inspector). Then select keyframe point(s) in the Curve Editor and click the "Autosmooth" button at the bottom of the window.
-
Fixed a crash bug when closing a document (only on Mac OS X 10.5).
-
The sliders that you can use to animate a layer's Conduit filter now have the "toggle keyframe" button as well, for easier animation.
-
You can now rename the Conduit filter sliders. This is useful because the sliders' purpose can be configured within the effect setup, so you can write down what each slider does in the layer inspector.
Each Radi version tends to focus on slightly different features. See what happened in the previous version:
